We just reserved our spots for our rafting trip prior to the Family reunion! YAY!!!! I can't be more excited. I have been wanting more outdoor adventure in our life, and here we are making it happen! My awesome sister-in-law did some research on the different companies in the area we're staying at and then called me to make sure we were still in, OF COURSE! We are so excited! We're hoping to do a horseback trail ride too. These are in addition to all the reunion fun which includes:
Multiple Hikes
Movie Night
Kickball Game
Adventure Park- which includes rides, alpine slide, zipline, cave exploration, this gigantic swing and bungee jumping- which we may or may not do, a dinner, and I don't even know what else, but it looks AWESOME!!
Fishing
Games/Activity Night
Lots of yummy food- I'm hoping for pancakes every morning! And some dutch oven yumminess
And did I mention we'll be camping the whole week? I LOVE camping!
My husband's family has perfected the family reunion. They have got it down! This is my first with them. I've been anticipating this for almost 2 years (we met weeks after the last reunion which is held every other summer) so I am bursting out of my seems with excitement that it is FINALLY here!

Public Transportation is Not for Me
Some mayors in the Salt Lake area have put together a challenge to make efforts to clean our air by carpooling, walking, public transportation, etc. The mayor of the City I work for is also participating in this and encouraging our employees. We have free passes for the bus system and the Trax as employees, so I decided I would start doing this and try to do it twice a week. It would save us a tank of gas each month, which is helpful! I mapped it all out. Walk to bus stop. Wait at bus stop. Get on bus and ride to trax station. Board trax. Read a book, or at least pretend to be while people watching. Get off at my stop. Walk to my office building.
So today was the big day I was going to start! I hurried my love bug out the door after breakfast, hopped in the shower and didn't take my time while getting ready. I grabbed my lunch and my laptop and listened to my ipod as I walked out of the house. I am going to save the world! Or at least 50 bucks a month! That's $50 more for our travel/eating out/date fundage! Yay!!
I left our house at 8:07. Still walking to bus stop at 8:17. What the heck?! If I were driving I'd be to work in 5 more minutes! I run this route most Saturdays in 5 minutes easily. My computer is getting heavy. I feel the looks of people judging me because I don't have a car and I'm using public transportation. I see a bus traveling the opposite way from my route let a woman off. She looks homeless. I fear the others on the bus might look the same! Still not to my stop and still walking uphill! I get to an intersection and while I'm waiting for the walk light, I am thinking about how I still have to wait for the bus, ride it, wait for the trax, ride it and walk to my office! This is ridiculous! I totally turn around and start walking home. Public transportation is such a good idea, but maybe not for this girl. And on another note, walking to actually get somewhere is not for me either. I like a walk around the neighborhood with love bug, but walking as transportation?! Please just give me my running shoes!

I'm new at this!
So I love love love reading blogs, especially blogs of people/families that I know, craft blogs and food blogs. And now, I have one. Yippee! I wasn't quite sure where/how to start. Do I do an intro of myself? Something crazy? Post pictures of all the crafts I have done in my entire lifetime overnight so everyone thinks I am ultra crafty? Bake my butt off in the kitchen tonight to showcase my mad skills? ........ Nah. How about the topic of conversation with one of my best friends who is also my co-worker. Not co-workers like we both got a job together at a call center or a restaraunt, but we are the 2 of 3 program coordinators for the Parks and Recreation department and we run 2 of the sports together. So seriously, we work very closely together and I am so glad we get along so well. Her name is Jetta. She is super cool and you will hear more about her I'm sure!
So I was telling her/seeking validation about "crushes" . I am married, so I don't crush on boys anymore, and I'm not real into celebrities and the likes, so it's not that type. I get friend crushes, like I can tell a person is just super fun, and I really want to be friends with them. Anyone else? So when my husband and I moved into our new ward, I got crushes on Stephanie and April. They seemd so well put together, friendly, happy, etc, etc, etc. I wanted to be friends with them. Or like this firefighter for our City. She has taught our department CPR and did a fire prevention presentation at a children's event I do, but sometimes I just really wish I could hang out with her and talk to her, not when we're at work and have our jobs to do. I can happily say I am friends with Stephanie and April now, we all work with the young women in our ward. They are just as amazing as I thought they would be. Definitely worthy of such a yearning for friendship! Have you ever had a "friend crush?"
